FAQs

What are your hours of operation?

That’s an easy one — Soda City Market runs on Saturdays (rain or shine) from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. and its year-round!

Do I qualify to become a vendor?

Soda City Market is a local-centric makers-market. If you make it, you qualify. Think jewelry creation, woodworking, food preparation, soap crafting, painting expert, etc. Aside from special designated occasions, service-based businesses are not permitted.

How and when do I apply?

Our team accepts applications on a rolling basis. Each application received before the following Tuesday will be reviewed. Apply using the link accessible here or via private message through Soda City’s Facebook and Instagram accounts.

What are you looking for in an application?

Your business should fill a gap in the current market landscape. It should add local value and be presented professionally. Directions should be followed too. If the directions say to type in all CAPS, then type in all CAPS.

Are nonprofits accepted?

Nonprofits can apply to the market using the vendor application. Upon approval, nonprofits are eligible to attend 1 Saturday a month, excluding those organizations with a political or religious mission.

Are corporations accepted?

For corporate entities, Soda City accepts sponsorships on a quarterly basis. Please email heather@sodacitysc.com for all inquiries related to sponsorships.

Do I need a Columbia business license to vend?

Yes, yes you do.

How do I find a vendor that I visited at the market?

The weekly map is listed to our Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram accounts each Friday. Feel free to reference this live Google Doc as often as you need to locate what vendors you engaged with in weeks past or scout out who you’d like to check-out each week.

Are you hiring?

Our company is small and team employment opportunities are limited. However, Soda City does hires paid part-time staff for special events and accepts interns each semester for college credit.

Where do I park?

Parking is free on Saturday within the Main Street District and the Vista. Feel free to park in any unbagged meter spot surrounding the market footprint. If you prefer garages here’s what we recommend: Taylor Street Garage, Cannon Garage, and Washington Street Garage. Paid parking spots are available behind the Wells Fargo building on the corner of Main and Hampton.

Are pets allowed at the market?

Absolutely! Soda City Market has something for everyone, including your furry friends. Please make sure all pets are well behaved, properly trained, and kept in sight. Columbia does have a leash law and you are required to clean up after your pets! Poop bags are available at the pocket park at the corner of Main and Lady. Your safety and the safety of your loved ones is of the utmost importance to us!
